Structured Cabling and Network Wiring in Summerville and Charleston, SC
Slow Wi-Fi, dropped calls and a closet nobody wants to open usually start with the wiring. Advyon designs, installs, tests and documents structured cabling for businesses in Summerville, Charleston and Mt Pleasant, serving businesses and municipalities across the Southeast. Every run is tested, and you get the test results and documentation at handoff. Because we are an IT company too, your cabling is built for the network that runs on it.

Wi-Fi site surveys: we measure, we don’t guess
Most Wi-Fi problems come from access points placed in the wrong spot, or from too few of them. We walk your space with survey tools and map real coverage, then design and cable access points where they belong.
- A heatmap of your current coverage and dead zones
- A plan for access point placement and cabling
- A final check after install to confirm the fix

How we work
- Survey: we walk the site, check pathways, ceilings and closets, and listen to what you need.
- Design: drop locations, closet layout, Cat6 or Cat6a, and Wi-Fi access point placement.
- Pull: our own technicians run and dress cable neatly, with care for your finished spaces.
- Test: every cable run is tested before we sign off, and you get the test results.
- Label: ports, panels and jacks are labeled to match.
- Document: at handoff you get the test results and documentation showing what was installed and where every run goes.

Structured cabling FAQ
What is structured cabling?
Structured cabling is an organized system of data cables, patch panels and racks that connects every computer, phone, camera and Wi-Fi access point in your building. It is designed, labeled and tested so it is easy to manage and easy to grow.
What is a Wi-Fi site survey, and why do I need one?
A Wi-Fi site survey measures real signal strength and interference across your space and maps it as a heatmap. It shows exactly where access points belong, so coverage is planned instead of guessed from a floor plan.
Predictive or onsite Wi-Fi survey: which is better?
A predictive survey models coverage from floor plans before you build. An onsite survey measures the real building. Many projects use a predictive plan up front and an onsite check after install to confirm coverage.
Should I choose Cat6 or Cat6a?
Cat6 handles most office needs. Cat6a supports 10 Gbps over full-length runs and runs cooler with higher-power PoE, so it is a strong choice for new builds, newer Wi-Fi access points and long runs. We help you pick what fits your building and budget.
How long does a cabling project take?
It depends on the number of drops, the building and access to ceilings and walls. Small offices often take a few days, and new construction follows the build schedule. We give you a timeline after the walkthrough.
How much does structured cabling or a Wi-Fi survey cost?
Cost depends on square footage, number of drops and building conditions, so we do not guess. We scope your project in a free Discovery Meeting and walkthrough, then send a written proposal.
Do you test and document every cable?
Yes. Every run is terminated, tested and labeled. At handoff you get the test results for your cable runs plus documentation showing where everything goes.
